Replacing the gas valve

Glow Combi C95 & C140

What is going on

Gas valve removal and reinstallation with leak and combustion checks.

Check in this order

  1. Remove the heat demand, let post-purge finish, turn gas off and remove power.
  2. Swing the control panel out and disconnect the gas valve cabling.
  3. Disconnect the stainless steel gas supply pipe at the gas valve inlet union. Discard the used 1/2 in and 3/4 in fiber washers.
  4. Remove the two T25 Torx screws securing the gas valve to the venturi.
  5. Pull the gas valve down off the venturi carefully so the rubber coupling is not damaged. Inspect the coupling for wear, cracking or tearing and replace if needed.
  6. Reassemble in reverse order using only new 1/2 in and 3/4 in fiber washers.
  7. Check for gas leaks.
  8. Perform a combustion analysis (Section 10.2.2) and confirm CO2 levels meet Table 10.1.
  9. Perform a combustion calibration after replacing the gas valve.

For licensed technicians. Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a qualified, licensed person. Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
