Replacing the fan
What is going on
Fan removal with burner assembly removed from the heat exchanger.
Check in this order
- Remove the heat demand, let post-purge finish, turn gas off and remove power.
- Swing the control panel out and disconnect the fan, gas valve, ignition and ionization electrode cabling.
- Disconnect the gas supply pipe at the gas valve inlet union. Do not lose the fiber washer.
- Once the chamber has cooled, remove the four nuts holding the burner assembly. Remove the assembly without damaging the refractory disc. Lay it face down on a firm surface.
- Remove the four 8 mm bolts holding the fan to the heat exchanger manifold. Do not damage the manifold-to-fan gasket.
- Remove the three T30 Torx screws securing the venturi to the fan. Do not damage the venturi-to-fan O-ring.
- Replace the fan and reassemble in reverse order.
- Check for gas leaks.

For licensed technicians. Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a qualified, licensed person. Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
