E07 Flue temperature high

High severity Elite EL

What the control is telling you

Flue sensor reads above 210 F. Boiler will not respond to a call for heat and the pump stays off until the flue falls below 194 F.

Applies to: EL-80, EL-110, EL-150, EL-220, EL-299, EL-399 (N/LP)

Likely causes

  • Flue obstructed or damaged
  • Flue sensor wiring or sensor faulty
  • Combustion set up wrong
  • Cracked or damaged target wall in the combustion chamber

Test and repair steps

  1. Check the flue for obstruction or heat damage and repair
  2. Run the boiler and compare an external flue thermometer with the FLUE reading in the status menu
  3. If readings disagree, check sensor wiring; replace the flue sensor if the wiring is good
  4. If the readings agree and the flue is truly hot, check and adjust combustion
  5. If it persists, inspect the target wall and replace if cracked
