Pressure, discharge temperature and fan protections

Ultranixx

What happens, in order

  1. High pressure switch open for a short time: system shuts down and shows E1; first occurrence restarts once the switch recloses
  2. Second high-pressure trip within the set period: no automatic restart; switch the unit off, clear the cause and restart
  3. Low pressure switch open for a short time: shuts down and shows E3; restarts if the switch recloses within a few minutes; repeated trips block auto restart until switched off
  4. Discharge temperature sensor open for a short time: shuts down and shows E4; restarts if it recloses within a few minutes; repeated trips block auto restart
  5. Heating high-temperature prevention when the indoor coil sensor reaches a set value, the outdoor fan slows
  6. Overload (H4) is raised when condensing pressure exceeds the protection value

Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
