Thermostat does not hold room temperature

What is going on

R95P: furnace runs but room temp not near set point.

Likely causes

  • Thermostat location
  • Heat anticipator
  • Undersized furnace

Check in this order

  1. Check thermostat is not affected by registers, fans, sunlight or heat in walls.
  2. Check heat anticipator setting; an isolation relay may be needed.
  3. Verify correct furnace sizing.
