Check in this order
- Cut the pipe end square, chamfer the edge, and remove all burrs and ragged edges.
- Clean the fitting socket and pipe joint of dirt, grease and moisture.
- Check the pipe fit in the socket.
- Wipe socket and pipe with cleaner-primer and apply a liberal coat inside the socket and outside the pipe.
- Apply a thin coat of cement inside the socket.
- Quickly apply a heavy coat of cement to the pipe end.
- Insert the pipe with a slight twist until it bottoms out.
- Hold the pipe in place for 30 seconds.
- Wipe away excess cement and allow 15 minutes before handling. Cure time varies with fit, temperature and humidity.

For licensed technicians. Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a qualified, licensed person. Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
