Sidewall direct-vent termination kit installation
What is going on
Kit RXGY-G02 is for a 2-pipe system and RXGY-G01 for a 3-pipe system. Horizontal only, may be used as non-direct or direct vent. Dimensions between inlet and outlet are fixed by the kit, so the general pipe spacing rules do not apply to it. A trap on the intake pipe is not needed with this kit. Multiventing is not allowed with this kit.
Check in this order
- Keep the termination off the prevailing winter wind side of the building.
- Keep the bottom of the vent cover at least 12 in (US) above grade or the highest expected average snow level, whichever is higher. In Canada follow CSA B149.1-10, Sect. 8.14.
- Install the vent and air intake pipes through the vent plate openings.
- Seal the vent pipe to the vent cap with silicone so the cap can be removed for annual cleaning.
- Seal all pipe penetrations in the wall.
- Do not stack sidewall kits one above the other.
- Let the vent protrude no more than 2-1/4 in past the vent plate.
- Let the air intake protrude no more than 1 in past the vent plate.
- With the RXGY-G02 on 3 in pipe, use no more than 18 in of 2 in pipe before the wall penetration.
Applies to: Sidewall vent kits RXGY-G02 (2-pipe) and RXGY-G01 (3-pipe)

For licensed technicians. Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a qualified, licensed person. Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
