One-hour lockout causes

96V

What is going on

A one-hour soft lockout starts when any of these occur: flame not detected after four ignition trials; flame lost five times in one heat call; undesired flame detected (one hour starts after flame is gone); dead blower detected (main limit open more than 150 seconds); unexpected voltage on the gas valve circuit that goes away when the inducer shuts off; or a water sensed condition that clears and returns within five minutes of the next heat attempt in the same heat call. The display alternates between "10" and the fault code. The lockout clears automatically after one hour.

Likely causes

  • Failed ignition trials
  • Repeated flame loss
  • Undesired flame
  • Dead blower
  • Gas valve circuit voltage
  • Recurring water sensed condition

Check in this order

  1. Read the fault code shown alternately with "10".
  2. Correct the underlying fault using the matching code entry.
  3. Clear the original fault and cycle power to the unit, or wait one hour for the automatic reset.

For licensed technicians. Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a qualified, licensed person. Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
