Installation checklist (commissioning record)

96V96MDV

What is going on

Record these values on the checklist sheet for service and warranty records. Items cover gas supply, electrical, clearances, static pressure, temperature rise, condensate, venting and terminations.

Check in this order

  1. Gas supply record pipe size, supply pressure during operation, manifold pressure, and LP kit number if used. Confirm no gas leaks.
  2. Electrical confirm a dedicated 115 VAC circuit, record voltage, confirm polarity and grounding, and record wire size and type.
  3. Clearances record clearance to combustibles and clearance for service at the front.
  4. Duct static pressure record static pressure on heating and cooling speeds.
  5. Temperature rise record air temperature rise in heat and in cool.
  6. Condensate confirm the trap is filled, vented, sloped toward drain, hoses are connected and clamped, and freeze protection is installed if needed.
  7. Direct vent record intake and exhaust pipe diameters, pipe lengths, elbow counts and exhaust vent temperature.
  8. Direct vent vertical confirm intake is at least 12 inches above roof or snow level and exhaust-to-intake relationship is correct.
  9. Concentric (RXGY-E03A) confirm intake is at least 12 inches above roof or snow level, exhaust slopes down toward the furnace, and horizontal and vertical distances are correct.
  10. Non-direct vent record exhaust diameter, length and elbow count.
  11. Non-direct vent terminations confirm vertical terminations are 12 inches minimum above roof or snow level, and horizontal standard terminations are 12 inches minimum above grade or snow level.
  12. In Canada, confirm venting conforms to CSA B149.1.

For licensed technicians. Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a qualified, licensed person. Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority. HVACopedia is not affiliated with any manufacturer; brand and model names only identify the equipment.
