Install intake coupling, air diffuser, intake pipe and flue pipe (steps 6-7)
What is going on
Install the intake and flue hardware on the blower shelf and secure the pipe collars. The air diffuser can fall out of the coupling, so the manual allows installing it after the furnace is turned horizontal.
Check in this order
- Install the intake coupling in the blower shelf hole. Insert the air diffuser until the tabs are seated.
- Slide the intake pipe through the left side knockout. Clean it and PVC glue it to the intake coupling.
- Insert the flue pipe assembly through the right side knockout, from under the plate. Slide the angled end through the blower shelf opening and align it with the elbow coupling.
- Secure the flue pipe assembly to the blower shelf with 2 screws. Make sure the O-ring is fully seated.
- Slide the pipe collar assemblies over the 2 pipes. Drill 8 holes of 1/8 in using the collars as a template.
- Secure the collars with 8 screws.
