Inducer runs 60 s then shuts off for 5 minutes, or runs continuously

What is going on

Inducer cycles on 60 s / off 5 min, or never stops, without the furnace lighting.

Likely causes

  • Open limit or limit circuit
  • Intermittent pressure switch
  • Vent restriction, excessive vent length or too-small vent
  • Blocked heat exchanger

Check in this order

  1. Check the STATUS LED blink code first.
  2. Check for an open limit or limit circuit.
  3. Check for intermittent pressure switch operation.
  4. Check the vent for restrictions and confirm vent length and diameter are within limits.
  5. Check for a blocked heat exchanger.
