Field conversion: horizontal right with right vent

What is going on

Field conversion of the furnace to horizontal right airflow with the vent on the right. Steps 1 and 2 are done with the furnace in as-shipped condition. Parts come from the parts bag and conversion kit RXGY-CK.

Check in this order

1. Gather the parts from the parts bag and kit RXGY-CK: condensate trap gasket, 1/4 inch black vent tube, 1/2 inch drain hoses E and F, and the intake coupling and nut.
2. Gather tools electric drill with 1/8 inch bit, pliers, flat-head screwdriver, 5/16 and 1/4 inch hex drivers.
3. Step 1a Remove the condensate trap and hoses. To remove the trap, take out the two screws and pull it straight out. Discard hose D and the vent hose.
4. Step 1b Install the intake coupling in the top plate as shown.
5. Step 2a Move the 1/2 inch yellow vinyl cap from its spot on the inducer coupling.
6. Step 2b Relocate the 0.403 inch drain plug in the collector box.
7. Step 2c Move the 1/4 inch yellow vinyl cap from the collector box vent tap.
8. Step 5a Rotate the unit 90 degrees to horizontal right.
9. Step 5b Cut the 1/4 inch vent hose to about 5-1/2 inch length and install it as shown. Use soapy water to help slide the hose on.
10. Step 5c Cut drain hose E on line 1 and install it. Make the cut straight and square.
11. Step 5d Cut drain hose F on the line that matches the unit width and install it. Line 1 is 17.5 inch, line 2 is 21 inch, and 24.5 inch means do not cut.
12. Step 4a Remove the metal bracket and the 0.403 inch drain plug, and discard them.
13. Step 4b Remove hose A and discard it.
14. Step 4c Install the 0.559 inch condensate drain plug and condensate trap gasket as shown.
15. Step 4d Install the condensate trap in the jacket with three screws. The trap may be installed later, after the unit is rotated, to avoid damage.
16. Step 3a Remove the rectangle flush-mount plug from the jacket side and discard it.
17. Step 3b Pre-drill three 1/8 inch holes for the condensate trap as shown.
