ECM blower does not start on heat

What is going on

RGPE/RGLE: blower should start on high heat speed 15-20 seconds after burners light.

Likely causes

  • Loose IFC-ECM connections
  • No 24 V to ECM control
  • PFC choke
  • No 115 VAC to motor
  • Dipswitch settings

Check in this order

  1. Check all connections between IFC and ECM motor.
  2. Check 24 V at the ECM 4-pin control connector, pins 1 and 4.
  3. Check dipswitch settings.
  4. Check the PFC choke and its wiring.
  5. Check 115 VAC line voltage to the motor.
  6. Read the fault code on the displays.

Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
