Compressor start protection and status display

PRL-JECICC control

What happens, in order

  1. ICC needs 24 V on R and C plus line voltage for the compressor and outdoor fan
  2. With no command it shows 0 (standby)
  3. A call for compressor operation lights the red Y1 LED
  4. Outdoor fan and compressor run with a 1 s on/off delay per stage
  5. Low pressure control is ignored for the first 90 s of compressor run (and during defrost)
  6. A 3 minute anti-short-cycle timer holds the compressor off between runs; the display flashes the mode letter while the timer is active
  7. Display letters c first stage cool, C second stage cool, h first stage heat, H second stage heat, d defrost

For licensed technicians. Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a qualified, licensed person. Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
