Unit will not start - Gree ductless

What is going on

Indoor unit shows no lights, no beep, or the breaker trips at power-up.

Likely causes

  • No power or loose plug/supply
  • Interconnect wiring wrong or loose
  • Ground fault / damaged cord
  • Wrong breaker size
  • Remote battery or remote fault

Check in this order

  1. Confirm supply at the outdoor unit; if the lights stay off with good power, check the interconnect terminals against the wiring diagram.
  2. If the breaker trips right away, check grounding and look for damaged insulation on the cord and internal wiring.
  3. Make sure the breaker is the correct size for the unit.
  4. If the unit has power but the remote shows nothing, replace the batteries or the remote.

For licensed technicians. Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a qualified, licensed person. Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
