Noise or vibration - Gree ductless
What is going on
Clicks, gurgles or rattles from the indoor or outdoor unit.
Likely causes
- Plastic expanding at start/stop (normal)
- Refrigerant flow noise (normal)
- Loose parts or debris
- 4-way valve coil buzz
- Compressor not sitting on its mounts or internal noise / overcharge
Check in this order
- Cracking or water-flow sounds at start/stop are normal and fade in a few minutes.
- Remove debris, tighten screws and add damping where parts touch.
- Replace a buzzing 4-way valve coil.
- Check compressor feet and bolts; if noise is internal, check for overcharge, else replace the compressor.

For licensed technicians. Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a qualified, licensed person. Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
