Furnace will not run (no heat) - Lennox EL195UHNE

What is going on

Quick checks from the manual when the EL195UHNE does not start on a call for heat.

Likely causes

  • No heat call
  • Access panel off (door interlock)
  • Power off / fuse or breaker
  • Dirty filter tripping the limit
  • Gas off
  • Ignition lockout (Watchguard)

Check in this order

  1. Confirm the thermostat is calling for heat (24 VAC on W).
  2. Make sure both access panels are on - the door interlock switch cuts line voltage.
  3. Check the main disconnect, fuses and breakers, and the 3 A circuit breaker CB8 in the control box.
  4. Check the filter; a plugged filter makes the limit shut the unit off (7 flashes).
  5. Confirm gas is on at the meter, the main manual valve and the internal valve.
  6. Read the red LED flash code and stored codes (press and release the recall button). If the unit is in lockout and locks out again, inspect for blockages (vent, intake, condensate drain).

Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
