Blower access panel and carbon monoxide hazard
What is going on
Carbon monoxide risk. On the Allied A95, A93, 95G1 and 92G1UH, if the blower access panel is off or loose while the blower or burners run, gas fumes that may contain CO can get into the living space. Confirm the panel is secure before any operation, and never run the furnace to test something with the panel removed.
Likely causes
- Blower access panel removed or loose while the blower or burners operate
- Panel not reinstalled after filter or blower service
- Damaged panel or missing fasteners that stop it sealing
Check in this order
- Keep the blower access panel securely in place whenever the blower and burners are running.
- After any service, check the panel is seated and fastened before you restore power.
- If the panel was found off, check the home for CO symptoms and use a CO detector.
- If a CO alarm sounds, leave the house and call a licensed technician or the gas utility.

For licensed technicians. Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a qualified, licensed person. Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
