What is going on
Reference pressures and method for millivolt valves.
Likely causes
- Supply or regulator out of spec
Check in this order
- Turn the inlet or outlet test screw 2-3 turns counter-clockwise and slip the gauge tube over the fitting.
- Check inlet pressure with the main burner ON to confirm adequate flow.
- Spec (service manual) natural gas supply 7" w.c., manifold 3.5" w.c.; propane supply 11" w.c., manifold 10" w.c. (GD70 manual lists propane inlet 13" normal / 11" minimum).
- Reseal screws firmly clockwise afterwards - do not over-torque; use a .150" x .030" blade screwdriver.
- Warning: leak-test the test ports.
Applies to: Napoleon gas fireplaces - direct vent, natural vent and vent-free (general service manual)

For licensed technicians. Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a qualified, licensed person. Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
