Applies to: (-)PRL-JEC 2-stage 16 SEER heat pumps: RPRL/UPRL-024JEC, -036JEC, -048JEC, -060JEC
Likely causes
- Dirty outdoor coil (cooling)
- Outdoor fan not running (cooling)
- Dirty indoor coil or filter (heating)
- Indoor blower not running (heating)
- Liquid line restriction
- Refrigerant overcharge
- Non-condensables in system
Test and repair steps
- Cooling clean the outdoor coil, verify outdoor fan motor/blade/rotation, check for discharge air recirculation.
- Heating replace filter, check the indoor coil and blower operation and speed.
- Check for a restricted liquid line or filter drier.
- Check charge; recover if overcharged. If non-condensables are suspected, recover, evacuate to 500 microns and recharge.
- Check HPC wiring at the ICC HPC input.
