Reading stored codes and component test - KeepRite (F/G)9MXE

What is going on

How to recall the last fault and run the built-in component test.

Likely causes

  • Need to find the last fault after it cleared

Check in this order

  1. Remove any thermostat call and wait for delays to finish - codes cannot be read otherwise.
  2. Leave 115 V on. Briefly (2-3 s) jumper TEST/TWIN to the thermostat C terminal (or briefly open one main limit wire).
  3. A stored code flashes 4 times, then the component test starts. No stored code = test starts straight away.
  4. During the test the inducer runs throughout; the igniter and each blower speed run 10-15 s in turn. Gas valve and HUM are not powered.
  5. Stored codes survive power loss and are cleared after 72 hours.
  6. Reading a code count the short flashes for the first digit; the digit after + is the count of long flashes.

For licensed technicians. Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a qualified, licensed person. Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
