Steady on (any color) LED lit solid - internal control fault
What the control is telling you
A solid, non-flashing LED in any color means the board has detected an internal problem (on White-Rodgers boards a solid red points to an internal gas valve circuit, micro or frequency check fault). Solid-LED faults are not saved in the code history.
Applies to: York/JCI residential gas furnaces: York UTEC IFC furnaces, York White-Rodgers IFC furnaces, York TM9V
Likely causes
- Internal failure of the integrated furnace control
- Supply power problem confusing the micro
Test and repair steps
- Switch power off, wait, and restore it.
- If the solid LED comes back, the board is faulty and must be replaced - it cannot be repaired in the field.
- When fitting a replacement, match the board type (single/two stage, PSC/X13/variable speed) and copy all jumper settings.
