LED steady off Board LED dark - no power to control
What the control is telling you
The diagnostic LED shows nothing at all. The control is not powered, its on-board fuse has opened, or the board itself has failed. Older White-Rodgers boards may still hold fault codes even with a blown fuse.
Applies to: York/JCI residential gas furnaces: York UTEC IFC furnaces, York White-Rodgers IFC furnaces, York TM9V
Likely causes
- No 115 V supply (breaker, service switch, blower door switch)
- Blown 3 A ATO fuse on the board from a 24 V short
- Failed transformer
- Failed control board
Test and repair steps
- Warning: Line voltage is present inside the cabinet - work carefully.
- Confirm 115 V at the furnace and that the blower door switch is pushed in.
- Check 24 V at the transformer secondary.
- Inspect the 3 A automotive-style fuse on the board; if open, find the low-voltage short (thermostat wire, outdoor unit wiring) before replacing it.
- If power and fuse are good but the LED stays dark, replace the control board.
