F13 Fan speed error

What the control is telling you

Fan speed is more than 30 percent off the commanded speed for over 10 seconds. Lockout with pump on. Control: FAULT light red steady and LOCKOUT shown on lower line; reset with RESET held over 1 second after repair.

Applies to: EL-80, EL-110, EL-150, EL-220, EL-299, EL-399 (N/LP)

Likely causes

Fan wiring problem
Failed combustion fan
Overloaded external sensor terminals
Failed control board

Test and repair steps

Check the combustion fan wiring
Measure DC volts from the red fan wire to ground with it connected: should be 24 to 40 V
If below 24 V, check for excessive loads on the sensor terminals
Unplug the 5-pin plug from the fan and re-measure: 24 to 40 V now means replace the fan
Still below 24 V means replace the control board
