Yellow 2 flashes High side fault / high pressure trip / high pressure lockout (older ComfortNet board)
What the control is telling you
Yellow LED 2 flashes. Green OFF = high side fault (4 protector trips, average run 1-15 min). Green ON + red OFF = high pressure switch opened. Green ON + red ON = high pressure lockout. Same meaning as 02 / L2 on newer boards.
Applies to: Earlier ComfortNet condensers/heat pumps with the PCBHR101-103 or PBBGR101-102 outdoor control (green, yellow and red status LEDs) - ASXC/DSXC/ASZC/DSZC revisions before the PCBHR104 change
Likely causes
- Dirty or blocked outdoor coil
- Outdoor fan motor not running
- Outdoor fan wiring or capacitor failure
Test and repair steps
- Warning: Kill power to the outdoor unit before touching wiring, the compressor terminals or the control.
- Clean the outdoor coil and clear anything blocking air to or from the unit.
- Check the outdoor fan motor runs; check its wiring and run capacitor and replace failed parts.
- Test the high pressure switch (opens 610 +/- 10 psig, closes 420 +/- 25 psig).
- High side fault clears after 4 normal cycles; lockout needs a 24 VAC power cycle.
