Yellow 7 flashes Open run circuit / lockout (older ComfortNet board)

Critical severity Goodman/Amana ComfortNet ASZC/GSZC/DSZC

What the control is telling you

Yellow LED 7 flashes. Red OFF = open run circuit; red ON = lockout after 4 detections 5 minutes apart. Same as 07 / L7 on newer boards.

Applies to: Earlier ComfortNet condensers/heat pumps with the PCBHR101-103 or PBBGR101-102 outdoor control (green, yellow and red status LEDs) - ASXC/DSXC/ASZC/DSZC revisions before the PCBHR104 change

Likely causes

  • Compressor run winding open
  • Compressor not wired correctly to the control
  • Faulty compressor wiring

Test and repair steps

  1. Warning: Kill power to the outdoor unit before touching wiring, the compressor terminals or the control.
  2. Measure compressor winding resistance; an open run winding needs a compressor replacement.
  3. Check compressor wiring and terminal connections; repair as needed.
  4. Lockout (red ON) needs a 24 VAC power cycle to clear.
