Ignition failure and flame loss retry
What happens, in order
- If the burner does not light, the furnace waits and retries ignition after 1 hour
- Fault code 11 (ignition failure) shows during that hour and clears when ignition succeeds
- If the retry fails the code stays and another try follows in 1 hour
- If flame goes out during the forced combustion period the same 1 hour wait and code 11 apply
- If flame goes out after forced combustion, while the temperature control is running the burner, the furnace tries to relight immediately with no code
- This ignition-failure code is not saved in the fault history

For licensed technicians. Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a qualified, licensed person. Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
