What is going on

Possible causes and checks for: liquid to compressor during defrost / defrost won't terminate.

Likely causes

  • Three-way solenoid stuck
  • Bypass check valve around TXV stuck, CPR not reducing receiver gas pressure
  • Liquid line solenoid not closing
  • Defrost thermostat failed
  • Pressure differential valve not giving 20–40 psi drop
