Replace the burner

TRX150

What is going on

Burner swap on the TRX150 means pulling the cover, the combustion assembly and then the burner. Replace every seal that looks damaged, because reused seals are how combustion leaks start.

Likely causes

  • Burner damaged or worn out
  • Hardened or torn seals and gaskets on the combustion assembly
  • Water or gas valves left open during the swap

Check in this order

  1. Power off the boiler and the circuit breaker, close the gas valve and isolate the water valves.
  2. Remove the front cover and pivot the electronics housing out of the way.
  3. Remove the combustion assembly.
  4. Remove the burner and inspect it.
  5. Replace the burner and all damaged seals or gaskets.
  6. Reassemble in reverse order and check for leaks, gas first, then water.
  7. Fire the boiler and watch the flame and the first full cycle.

For licensed technicians. Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a qualified, licensed person. Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
