Remove the cabinet cover and control panel housing

TRX

What is going on

Getting the front cover and control panel housing off the TRX150 for qualified service work.

Likely causes

  • Power or gas left on while the cabinet is open
  • Front cover latches not fully released, so the cover binds
  • Control panel still held by the cross-member screw or tabs

Check in this order

  1. Switch off power at the external power switch and the circuit breaker, because the board stays live with the cover off.
  2. Close the external gas shutoff.
  3. Release the four latches on the front cover, two on each side.
  4. Lift the front cover off and set it aside.
  5. Remove the screw holding the control panel to the cross-member.
  6. Push in the tabs and pull the control panel housing forward.

For licensed technicians. Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a qualified, licensed person. Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
