Display is blank

Trinity Tft

What is going on

Touchscreen shows nothing. The display may just have timed out and blanked itself, so touch it first.

Likely causes

  • Screen timed out
  • No 120 VAC to boiler or display
  • 12 VDC display power supply failed
  • Display wiring loose

Check in this order

  1. Touch the screen to wake it and confirm the service switch under the display is on
  2. Remove the front cover and check the 2 by 2 Molex connector behind the top of the display
  3. Remove the painted cover to reach the 12 VDC supply; measure 120 VAC at L and N
  4. Measure 12 VDC between +V and -V; replace the supply (part 83592-1) if it is missing
  5. If 12 VDC is present, slide the display up and check red to + and black to - on its back

For licensed technicians. Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a qualified, licensed person. Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority. HVACopedia is not affiliated with any manufacturer; brand and model names only identify the equipment.
