Check the burner

TRX150

What is going on

Burner check on the TRX150. Combustion assembly is out of the heat exchanger, so look it over while you can. Gaskets do not get reused.

Likely causes

  • Burner surface damaged or cracked from age or overheating
  • Old burner gasket compressed and leaking combustion gas
  • Ceramic fiber crumbled or disturbed during removal

Check in this order

  1. Power off, gas off, then remove the four screws holding the two electrodes to the burner plate and pull the electrodes.
  2. Remove the ceramic fiber.
  3. Remove the four screws and pull the burner out.
  4. Inspect the burner and replace it if damaged.
  5. When replacing the burner, always fit a new burner gasket.
  6. Leak check and verify flame on restart.

For licensed technicians. Gas, electrical and refrigerant work must be done by a qualified, licensed person. Shut off power and gas before servicing, never bypass a safety control, and follow the manufacturer’s manual for the exact model; it and local codes always take priority.
