ODU P4 Discharge temperature protection (outdoor board)
What the control is telling you
Outdoor board display. Indoor shows PC06.
Applies to: DLCMRBH / DLCMHBH multi-zone outdoor units 18-48K (Midea, Carrier, Viessmann Vitocal 200-S)
Test and repair steps
- Safety kill power at the disconnect and wait for the inverter capacitors to discharge before touching boards or wiring.
- Confirm the discharge temperature really is high (over 239 F / 115 C) with a contact thermometer.
- Check the discharge sensor plug and wiring against the diagram, and measure the sensor (about 54.9 kOhm at 77 F).
- Check for a leak / low charge. Repair the leak and recharge.
- If charge and sensor are good, replace the outdoor main PCB.
