Majestic · Gas fireplace
2 RED Spark fail
What the control is telling you
Two red flashes after the ON button is pressed: the control tried to spark but did not get a pilot.
Applies to: 300DVBLN/PSC7, 400DVBLN/PSC7, 500DVBLN/PSC7 (Signature Command)
Likely causes
- Sparker lead or pilot connections loose
- Spark is jumping to the wrong place (under the pilot) instead of into the gas stream
- Sparker not positioned in the path of the pilot gas
- Control board picking up interference from nearby metal / poor grounding
Test and repair steps
- Check the pilot connections at the control board
- Look at the spark if it happens under the pilot, re-install or replace the pilot assembly
- If the spark is not in the gas path, adjust the sparker position or replace the pilot assembly
- Check grounding; re-install or move the control board, or replace it if the problem stays
