07 Open run circuit

Critical severity Goodman/Amana ComfortNet ASZC/GSZC/DSZC

What the control is telling you

Compressor and outdoor fan are off with pressure switches closed; the control sees current only in the start circuit - the run circuit is open.

Applies to: Communicating 2-stage condensers and heat pumps with the PCBHR104 or PCBHR105 outdoor control (7-segment display): ASXC16/18, GSXC16/18, DSXC16/18, ASZC16/18, GSZC16/18, DSZC16/18

Likely causes

  • Compressor run winding open
  • Compressor not wired correctly to the control
  • Faulty compressor wiring

Test and repair steps

  1. Warning: Kill power to the outdoor unit before touching wiring, the compressor terminals or the control.
  2. Measure compressor winding resistance; an open run winding needs a compressor replacement.
  3. Check compressor wiring and terminal connections; repair as needed.
  4. Clears after one normal cycle or by power cycling the 24 VAC.
