Likely causes
- High ambient (cooling over 125 F, heating over 86 F)
- Closed service valve or kinked line
- Overcharge
- Poor condenser airflow or failed fan
Test and repair steps
- Confirm the ambient temperature is in range.
- Open valves and clear line restrictions.
- Check charge, condenser airflow and fan motor.
- Replace the high pressure switch if it failed.
