P2 Compressor top overheat (OLP)

High severity Carrier DLCM(R/H)B multi-zone outdoor

What the control is telling you

Same fault as PC02. Shown on the 48K high heat model.

Applies to: DLCMHBH48EAK (48K high heat) only

Test and repair steps

  1. Safety kill power at the disconnect and wait for the inverter capacitors to discharge before touching boards or wiring.
  2. Check indoor and outdoor airflow clear the inlets, outlets and coils.
  3. Leave power off 10 minutes so the compressor cools, then check whether the top is still above 194 F (90 C).
  4. Check the overload protector (OLP) plug and wiring. With the compressor cool, the OLP should read 0 ohms; open = replace the OLP.
  5. Check the refrigerant side for a leak or restriction and repair.
  6. If OLP and system are good, replace the outdoor control PCB.
