A1-A8 / L1-L8 Gas code selection (gas type, altitude, vent length)
What the display is showing
Code the installer picks on the LED display with the up and down buttons after pressing the Test Switch (furnace off, Set back OFF) until it beeps. A codes are natural gas, L codes are propane. Digits 1 to 4 pick the altitude band (up to 2,000 ft, up to 5,400 ft, up to 7,800 ft, up to 10,200 ft). On the EX11, digits 5 to 8 repeat those four bands for the long vent lengths (7 ft + 1 elbow up to 13 ft + 3 elbows); the EX08 only uses 1 to 4, and the EX17/EX22 use 1 to 4 for short and long vents alike. Pressing the Test Switch twice stores the code.
Applies to: Rinnai EX08DT, EX11DT, EX17DT, EX22DT direct vent wall furnaces
What to do
- With the furnace off, hold the Test Switch on the PC board until it beeps.
