+ - + - + - Forced defrost request (remote key sequence)

Menu / mode display Gree Vireo GEN3

What the display is showing

A service key sequence on the remote that forces a defrost cycle. While it runs the heating lamp shows the defrost pattern (on 10 s, off 0.5 s). Once the outdoor unit confirms, the indoor unit leaves the setting and normal heating resumes. If a fault or protection stop is active, the sequence only works after that clears.

Applies to: Vireo GEN3 9-24k (3VIR..HP115/230V1A)

What to do

  1. Turn the unit on in heating mode and set 16°C.
  2. Within 5 seconds press + - + - + - on the remote.
  3. The unit finishes the defrost and returns to normal heating by itself.
