Midea · Furnace
LED2 green 2 flashes Refrigerant concentration above alarm limit (leak)
What the control is telling you
The sensor detects A2L refrigerant above the alarm level. Cooling (Y) is cut and the indoor blower keeps running until the concentration drops to a safe value.
Applies to: Midea BGH96M 96% AFUE two-stage gas furnaces (060B3A, 080B3A, 080C4A, 100C5A, 100D5A, 120D5A) with A2L refrigerant leak sensor on CN30 (fan drive board LED2)
Likely causes
- Damaged refrigerant pipe or coil
- Refrigerant leak at fittings/brazed joints
Test and repair steps
- Warning: Flammable (A2L) refrigerant leak - ventilate the area and keep all open flames and ignition sources away. Do not cycle power to force the furnace to fire.
- Let the blower run until the alarm clears.
- Leak-test the coil, line set and fittings and locate the leak.
- Repair the leak, pressure test, evacuate and recharge per the outdoor unit instructions.
- Confirm LED2 stops flashing and cooling resumes.
